Synopsis

Various projects (e.g. DBIx::Class) are ending their support for perl 5.8.8 soon. This means organisations stuck using perl 5.8.8 will become mired in the past with no hope of attracting programmers who like using more modern Perl.

So what are the high points of more recent perls?
